About the IGGH

The Interessengemeinschaft Gehörlose und Hörbehinderte IGGH is a non-profit organisation based in Bern that has been promoting the interests of deaf and hearing-impaired people since 1998. It acts as a supporting organisation for self-help and specialist help, in which 11 associations and institutions in the cantons of Bern and Fribourg as well as in the Upper Valais have joined forces.

The IGGH aims to improve the quality of life and inclusion of people with hearing impairments in areas such as work, education, leisure and culture. It brings the concerns of deaf and hearing-impaired people to the attention of political bodies and offers specific courses.

The online directory of hearing facilities was initiated in 2009 and has been continuously developed and expanded throughout Switzerland ever since.
